When C.O.O.R. ISD staff receive notification of a positive case, they will notify the Health Department for the residence of the infected person, as well as the Roscommon County Health Department, and assist them with contact tracing.
The Health Department will identify close contacts and may order them to quarantine. A close contact means any individual who was within six feet of a COVID-19 infected person for at least 15 minutes over 24 hours starting from two days before illness onset, or two days prior to testing positive for those that are asymptomatic. Please see the CDC website to learn what you can do to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.
As long as there are cases of COVID-19 in the community, there will be no way to prevent all risks of COVID-19 spread in schools. The goal is to keep the risk as low as possible and keep schools/school activities as safe as possible.
