About COOR ISD
C.O.O.R. ISD is located in picturesque northern Michigan, a region known for its natural beauty, teeming with lakes and rivers and vast tracts of forests. The area is renowned for outdoor opportunities including numerous ski resorts, world-class golf courses, wildlife viewing, hiking, hunting, and fishing. COOR ISD is the second largest ISD in Michigan, based on square miles, with about 7,500 public school students enrolled. Within this area COOR serves six local public school districts; Crawford-AuSable Schools, Mio AuSable Schools, Fairview Area Schools, Houghton Lake Community Schools, Roscommon Area Public Schools and West Branch-Rose City Schools ; and two Public School Academies, the Charlton Heston Academy and the Alternative Educational Academy of Ogemaw County.
ROOC, Inc. is a non-profit organization providing employment and skill training services for persons with disabilities. They provide services in several other adjacent counties. Although ROOC, Inc. is a subsidiary of the COOR ISD, they do not receive any financial support via millage.

Heading North on I-75 take exit 244 and turn left crossing over I-75. Heading south on I-75 take exit 244 and turn right. Immediately after exiting turn left on Ivy Road. (Ivy road is just past the Valero Gas Station) Take Ivy Road (County 101) which turns into North Cut Road about 1.2 miles to the top of Pioneer Hill. The COOR office is on the right side of the road. The COOR Education Center and ROOC, Inc. are on the left side of the road.
Heading North on Michigan 27 take the first Higgins Lake exit. Turn right after exiting onto County 104. Take County 104 (which turns into County 100) about 12 miles to the top of Pioneer Hill. At the top of the hill turn left onto North Cut Road. You will see the COOR Offices on the left and the COOR Education Center and ROOC, Inc. on the right.
